"...Regarding the salt:  I had situations in the past where the jelly developed a milky liquid coating and a foul odor in approximately 2-3 weeks time.  This was several different jars of various scents...all of them had the miky coating and foul odor.  They sure smelled as though they had gone bad.  I found that by adding a pinch of salt  preserved the jelly for a much longer period of time. In fact, I just pulled out an old jar of "Black Cherry" Smelly Jelly, which I am sure is at least 3 years old.  It has been closed up in an 8 oz Mason jelly jar all this time. It is still fragrant, no milky liquid, and no foul odor.  Amazing!    Salt definitely aids in preservation of the jelly, but just a pinch!  Thank you again for your immediate responses to my inquiries.  It is so good to know that there is a company with such excellent customer service."
